Birds of Paradise is a classic mana accelerator that has been reprinted in nearly every Core Set from Alpha to Tenth Edition, becoming one of green's most iconic cards despite flying creatures being outside the color pie. The card's creation was an unusual case where artist Richard Garfield designed the card specifically to match existing artwork originally intended for a different card.
