Introduction
The free tier of CardMind covers everything you need to get started: unlimited collection tracking, live price data across 113,000+ cards, 10 AI analyses per month, and in-app price alerts. For many collectors, that is enough.
Player unlocks the tools that turn browsing into actionable intelligence. At $9.99/month — or $99/year, saving $20.88 — it is the tier for collectors who want to stay ahead of the market on the cards they own.
Unlimited AI analysis
Every card in CardMind has an AI analysis panel. Click Analyze on any card in your collection and the analysis runs in real time, streaming results as they arrive. Free accounts are capped at 10 analyses per month. Player removes that cap entirely.
The analysis covers five areas:
- Reprint risk — How likely is this card to appear in an upcoming product? What effect would a reprint have on its price?
- Meta share — How prominent is this card in competitive formats right now? Which archetypes are running it?
- Buylist trends — What is the Card Kingdom buylist doing? Is dealer confidence rising or falling?
- Tournament data — Has this card appeared in recent top 8s? Is it emerging or fading?
- Format health — Is the format this card belongs to healthy? Are bans likely in this window?
Results come with transparent reasoning. You can see exactly which data points informed the analysis. Run it before every trade, after every spoiler season, or whenever a card you own starts moving.
Email alert notifications
Price alerts on the free tier are in-app only: you see them on your dashboard the next time you open CardMind. Player adds email delivery — an alert arrives in your inbox within minutes of the threshold being hit.
Setting an alert is two fields: the card, and the target price. You can set "above $X" alerts for cards you want to sell into a spike, or "below $X" alerts for cards you are waiting to buy. Player accounts also get unlimited alerts — the free tier is capped at 10.
The email shows the card name, your target, the current price, and a direct link to the card detail page. No login required to view the alert context.
Daily portfolio briefing
Every morning, CardMind generates a personalized briefing based on your collection. It appears at the top of your dashboard.
The briefing covers three things:
- Overnight movers — Which cards in your collection changed price since yesterday, and by how much
- Active signals — Any signals that fired on cards you own
- Action items — Specific cards where a signal is active, with the signal type and confidence level
If nothing notable happened overnight, CardMind skips the AI call entirely and shows a brief summary instead. The briefing is designed to be noise-free — it only surfaces information when there is something worth your attention.
All signal types
Free accounts see a subset of signal types. Player unlocks the full set:
- Price spike / price drop— Sudden movement above or below a card's 90-day average
- Volume spike — Unusual transaction volume suggesting coordinated buying or selling
- Ban window — Cards matching historical patterns that preceded previous ban announcements
- Tournament dominance / emerging — Cards showing up heavily in recent top 8s, or newly appearing in competitive lists
- Buy opportunity — Cards trading significantly below their 90-day average
- Buylist rise / buylist drop — Card Kingdom buylist changes that signal dealer confidence
Every signal shows a confidence level (HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW) based on how strongly the card matches the detection criteria.
Sell optimizer — all 4 platforms
When you are ready to sell a card, the sell optimizer calculates net returns across multiple platforms, with fees already factored in:
- TCGPlayer net = price × 0.8975 − $0.30
- Manapool net = price × 0.95
- Card Kingdom buylist (Player+)
- eBay net = price × 0.871 − $0.30 (Player+)
Free tier shows TCGPlayer and Manapool. Player adds Card Kingdom's current buylist offer and eBay. In most cases, one platform pays meaningfully more than the others — the optimizer makes that comparison instant.
Deck Intelligence — AI assessment
Deck Intelligence lets you paste any MTG decklist and get an instant cost breakdown, gap analysis, and EDHREC recommendations. Free accounts get the gap analysis: which cards in your list you own versus which you would need to acquire.
Player adds AI assessment: a strategic analysis of your deck's strengths, weaknesses, and upgrade paths — based on your actual collection, not generic advice. The analysis factors in what you own, what signals are active on cards in your list, and where you could cut without losing the deck's core strategy.
Who it is for
Player is designed for:
- Active collectors who track 50 or more cards and want to know about price movements before they happen to open the app
- Players who trade at LGS events and want price alerts to arrive on their phone before they sit down at the table
- Commander players building multiple decks who need cost optimization and AI-assisted upgrade paths
If you have ever found out too late that a card in your collection spiked, or wished you had sold into strength instead of finding out after the peak, Player is what addresses that. See the pricing page for a full feature comparison and to start your trial.
